Professional Career

Krzysztof Wiśniewski born April 15, 1960 in Chełmża. He has lived in Lipno for many years. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. He studied painting with the artist professor Mieczysław Ziomek, and drawing with Jędrzej Gołaś. He is a member of the Association of Polish Artists, branch in Toruń. Artistically associated with a group of painters practicing the so-called "Magical Dreams" (Magical Realism).
At the end of the 1990s, he shed the "costume" of classic landscape painting and begins to create surreal compositions in the spirit of romantic painting. Since then, his paintings have been characterized by a deep poetic metaphor.

Artistic approach

The artist himself says: I think that a painter should paint not only what he sees in front of him, but what he sees inside himself. That is why in my paintings I try to create an indefinite, melancholic longing for the distant past and the near future. It is noticeable that Wiśniewski often uses a palette of blue, purple, pink, etc. His colors, combined with his favorite props, are always intended to be symbolic.
The importance of one's color in paintings is expressed as follows; My color blue is not only a perspective color, a color that does not penetrate deep but attracts me into the distance. Blue combined with green together become spiritual, they refer to the moment of the past and the future, they match the restless, longing sensitivity and loneliness. However, a series of figures, to put it simply, are indicators emphasizing the uncertainty of the passage of time and the specific game of human fate.
