Professional Career

Modelling and drawing since childhood. Regular attendance at evening classes at the Beaux-Arts ‘Modèles vivants’ (life models). I perfected my skills with Martine Vaugel (American sculptor) in her workshops in France. Sculptor at the E. Daynes Paris workshop: creation of sculptures for amusement parks, set elements and masks for the theatre. Also as a head make-up artist, I participated in 350 opera productions across Europe and Switzerland.

Artistic approach

I work with clay, plasticine and plaster. My sculptures are made of acrylic resin or bronze. I have a passion for human anatomy, particularly portraiture and what it can reveal about the human soul and its tribulations. I love the struggle to achieve a form, which absorbs you completely. The achievement of a form requires my participation as a craftsman, but the embodiment of the form occurs beyond me; it is the universal transcendent part. The information comes next; it will be the message that the work will convey and which will engage in dialogue with everyone. A dialogue that revolves around the notions of spirituality, anthropology, accomplishment, unaccomplishment, beauty, meaning and faith, represented by a symbolic alphabet of my own creation, such as birds, boats, fish, etc.

‘If we know where we come from, we know where we are going’: I have a deep admiration for the old masters I study, which allows me to create a resolutely contemporary sculpture.
